Computer maintenance 101
I went to Jo's pre-school today, as the computer's apparently broken (again). Here's how to fix a CD-ROM drive:- unplug all the leads
- take the case off
- take the fascia off
- disconnect the CD-ROM drive
- remove the CD-ROM drive
- press the manual tray release
- pull the tray out
- remove the 4 CD-ROMs that the pre-school children had pushed into the tray
- push the tray back in until the tray release clicks
- replace the CD-ROM drive
- reconnect the CD-ROM drive
- replace the fascia
- put the case back on
- plug all the leads on
A meal with the clergy team today, our last meeting before James goes. He'll be missed. In a good way. He's become a very good friend.

Thanks for this. Can you now do "how to get your PC to talk to your dad's old hard drive as a second drive so you can get the data off it"?
