Throat

Hurts. Ow. Getting a bit snotty, too. Yeuch. Productive day at work despite that, though.

Comments:
Hi,Mike. I saw your comment on the blog "How to use a TPM with Linux". I met the same problem with you, which is "TCSD TCS ERROR: TCS GetCapability failed with result = 0x1087". I would really appreciate if you could tell me how to fix this problem. Thanks again.

Justin -

Try here (great resource): https://www.grounation.org/index.php?2008/07/04/8-how-to-use-a-tpm-with-linux

(You may need to approve the certificate, as it's self-signed).

Things I was doing wrong:
1) wrong module for the chip: you want to be using tpm_tis, assuming it's a TPM v1.2 chip
2) not realising that I needed to run tcsd - I'd do this from the command line (as root or sudoed!) as "tcsd -f", which runs it in the foreground.

The guy who runs the site is very helpful, and will help you if he can, but drop me a line if you continue to have problems.

-Mike.

Thank you very much Mike. I'll try what you said and keep you in touch if I meet new problems. Good luck!^_^

hope your throat is soon better ...
I don't speak Linux...
